What a Week!

Our team has been incredibly busy, navigating the social and political climate while networking with local business organizations!

Our first stop was the 2017 Business Showcase at the Red Lion Inn Bellevue!
We announced the winner of the raffle for a $50 Amazon Gift Card- if you have not seen the announcement - visit us on Instagram (@DearLLC) or Twitter (Dear_LLC)!

Thank you to everyone who visited us at the showcase and GIANT thanks to Red Lion Bellevue, and the Bellevue Chamber of Commerce for
hosting an amazing event. We will be back next year without a doubt!

Also last week we attended the
Rainer Valley Chamber of Commerce Breakfast Meeting!
I live in the Columbia City neighborhood, and I recently joined the Rainier Valley Chamber. Susan Davis, the Executive Director and I connected immediately over our passion for Deaf culture and Community as well as our desire to bridge new business owners with long time business
owners to create a mentorship relationship and bridge the gap between old and new, the established and the growing.
I am very excited about continuing to connect with other Chamber members in the near future.

One of the exciting moments of the breakfast,  was when we were able to hear the amazing story of Joe Fugere, owner and founder of the very successful Tutta Bella Pizzeria. Joe shared his incredible accounts of meeting President Obama, being invited to the white house to represent small business owners, and pretty fantastic story about delivering fresh pizza to Air Force 1
as requested by the President himself!

Last stop, but certainly NOT LEAST,
Lori Karnes, National Account Specialist of Ace Relocation services, is one of the many wonderful people I have met on this business journey.
Lori kindly invited me to join her at the GSBA Women on Top event.
The fantastic event was held at the Columbia Tower Club, and featured a partner host, Hearing Speech and Deafness Center "HSDC". I was VERY excited to attend, for a couple reasons, first being that GSBA is the largest LGBTQ and allied chamber in the US that focuses on promoting diversity and inclusion in the workplace!
Second, being that  HSDC has played an enormous role in my families needs for the last few years and any opportunity I have to support them is an honor for me.

HSDC is always looking for donations and volunteers, if you want to learn more about how they support Deaf and Hard of hearing individuals and families with a myriad of services, visit them here: http://www.hsdc.org/
They also have a fundraiser coming up! Here is the flyer about that!

It was an amazing week, meeting new people, learning about new business and organizations! I feel like this is truly the time to connect and come together, to build bridges and relationships.
